wheel offset

Question?

I have motorsport warehouse drop springs on my 94ls with stock struts.

I know that it is advised that the offset for aftermarket wheels be 40cm or greater. Problem is, I really really like Enkei RS6 18". They have a 38 offset.
Can I get away with this? What problems would I potentially run into?
Does anyone know of a rim that is very similar with a greater offset?

Thanks for the help.

I've got the 17x8 Enkeis off the Lancer Evo VIII [very similar to the RS6]. They're 38mm offset, too, and with 235/45 tires they rub whenever weight is shifted to the rear. If you're running narrower tires you might be alright, or you could roll the fenders...
