I got my first CEL. What should I do next?
For the week, I have been getting an intermittent CEL. First thing in the morning, it goes on within the first few minutes of driving (the engine and fluids are still cold), stays on for about ten seconds, goes off and then I don't see it again all day. I did the diagnostic today and I get the CEL code of 21: Coolant Temperature Sensor.
Has anyone had this CEL? What does it mean? (What's wrong) What should I do? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor.
Its only like $25.00 at a subaru dealer, and take about 5 minites to change. My car did that and about 12 weeks later the car started haveing trouble starting then it was cold. After I replaced the Coolant Temperature Sensor the car starts ever time on the first try. I allso was geting bad gas millege before I replaced it. For the price just replace it and get the code cleared.
