trans match up

my fwd trans is finally going out the window. I am looking to pick one up but im not sure if it's a match. It is out of a 90 legacy, it looks to be the same but i just wanted to make sure the connectors would match up correctly. They say the one connector has 12 pins and the other 11. I have had my trans out and apart beore for a differential rebuild but i can't seem to remember what the connector pins were. Don't forget this is a fwd so there will be less than the awd. Thnx for the input.

It should plug right up...
At worst, you'd have to splice your connector onto the new tranny, but I'm pretty sure it will just plug right in, with no mods.

You'll nee the flex plate off the Legacy to use the Legacy Torque converter....

I wouldn't use the SVX Torque converter unless you have it rebuilt, as it will be full of shavings if you tranny was bad...

also, i wanted to know what the gear ratio is in one of those. I am looking to mod this trans to make it have 4.11 gears so i need to know if i will be buying new ones or not. it was a 1990 legacy wagon, i am not sure exactly what model but i know it was fwd. That should narrow it down.

It should have 4.11's in it, most of the early Legacy's ran 4.11's, except the Turbo Legacy's, which ran 3.90's.....

I don't think any of the FWD 4EATs had the 4.44's, but I would think the gears would bolt up fine in the front diff.
