Hey There...

The rotors is another word for brake disks. As the other members explained earlier, SVX rotors are prone to warping i.e. they change their shape when they get heated up under heavy braking, therefore the vibration occurs.

I had that problem on my car when I first got it and had to replace the front rotors and calipers and machine the rear rotors. You can measure the tickness of the rotor and see if it's above the minimum requirement. If that's the case, any brake shop should be able to machine your rotors and make them perfectly flat again.

Do you get a rattle when you go over a bump? My calipers were worn and they would rattle when braking or going over a bump. That was also part of the shaking when using the brakes.

I hope this helps.

Nick

hmm im selling the car in few months, maybe even in january

so dont wanna spend much money, just wanna fix and sell it...

and get newer SVX of course
mine done almost 300,000 kms.. so nothing is new in it
but i still love it...

anyways what are the minimum requirements for rotor's thickness?

p.s. its not easy to measure the thickness of rotors, who tried that probably will understand me....

My Grand Am used to pull that nonsense on me. Turns out it was a loose caliper. I just tightened it up & that was that.

Contaminated fluid will heat up very quickly and kill your braking. Mine used to heat up so bad the front end of the car would shake violently - felt like you were driving over rumble strips.
