Yeah I ordered me a bunch of shiznot.
Can someone explain how one uses the starter to break the pulley free without breaking ones arm or denting the fender? I kinda need a mental drawing. I'm imagining this metal bar poking out of the engine bay resting on the fender. Does it go through the bottom where my skid pad used to be or am I missing something?

I used a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and a bigass pipe layed towards the driver side fender. Then 2-2x4's stacked on top of eachother layed inside the top of the fender on the little ledge. I also layed a towel under the 2x4's to make sure if it shifted it didnt scratch anything.
Thats it - key starter only very slightly and voila - you're done. If you want to be extra safe, unplug the fuel pump and start the car and run it out of gas before trying to break the pulley loose.

Using the strap.
I would not use the strap around the pulley, to tighten the bolt. You are holding the outer section and torquing the center section. This could cause the rubber bond to shear.
A screwdriver in the flywheel teeth, from under the car would be safer. Harvey.

I think I'd rather muscle it.
My personal mechanics are strong-arming goliaths so I don't need to worry about breaking a sweat. =D

I'll be replacing with a one piece pulley from Dayle so I'll use the strap wrench again, but I have to retract my suggestion for using a strap wrench on a stock pulley based on this experience (or I can just blame it on a 212k miles old pulley finally reaching the end of it's life)
