according to that, a WRX's 5th gear redlines at 174, the normal impreza transmission won't be too much different

Its just a math problem. take the max engine speed. devided by the final gear. then multiply that to the circrumfrence of the tire. then turn it into mph. that would the absolute max speed. math is fun lol

about 147 is all i got out of my 4.11 5mt. I didn't push it too hard because hitting the rev-limiter at those speeds can be disasterous. I was reving at about 6400 rpm

dumb question...
Where the heel would you need to go that fast?

I went 127 but in all reality that is fast enough to beat anyone out there as most pussy out at 105. So why?

Why would you eat Mcdonalds? Burger King is always there too. I mean and then there is Wendy's. Because I like speed. I don't do it all the time infact I haven't even gone over 100 in my silver since I have gotten it. It was just a once in a while thing I did becuase the car accelerated to the speed so quickly and with my old brakes, it would slow extremely fast as well

I've read elsewhere that a stock SVX in fourth gear at redline would be doing close to 200 MPH. Thing is, it takes way more than 230 horsepower to get there, and that would be your problem approaching any such lofty speed, no matter the gear ratio.

According to the chart:
6400 46.7 84.3 130.2 187.6
6400 RPMS you are doing 187.6mph in top gear with the stock 4spd. I don't remember the exact number... but I'm pretty sure you need a certain % of hp/torque (450whp?) to get past the drag that is created around ~165mph... I had mine doing ~140 on the speedo.. and it was pulling.. I think it needs a bit more power to try and make it past the 160/165 mark though.
How does everyone feel about using GPS as an accurate MPH source??

I've gotten mine up to about 115, but the accelleration began to stagnate before I had to hit the brakes towards the end of the road. I have stock gears, ecutune stage 1, cold air intake, and stebro exhaust. The ecutune chips set the rev limiter at 7500 so you can push the car faster, that is if you can get it up there in 4th.
