New member here, checking the board before taking the plunge and buying a SVX, currently own two Outbacks, a 97 daily driver, and a 98 parts car that may be donating it's transmission to a SVX in the near future

New member, do not have a SVX yet, came here to do some research before putting down my hard earned cash ..

Now to decide
92 120K,km (75k miles) with only 1st gear but cool paint job and good interior asking $3,000.00
95 200K,km (124k miles) runs good some hail damage, and rust, ABS light on Asking $2,000.00
92 260k,km (161k miles) recient transmission, some rust, "needs water pump" asking $1,500.00

I do have a 1998 Outback that has a good transmission so I am leaning toward the first one. any suggestions?

2nd SVX purchased this past weekend. 92 Pearl. After regretting letting the first one go, will actually keep this one. Of course I have said that about many of my previous 40 vehicles...

Greetings from a new member in Finland !

Bought an SVX just a month ago, a claret -92 US spec vehicle @ 119kmiles. Very nice condition for a car 20 years old. Only 2 previous owners - the first a doctor who brought it home from the States, then a construction business owner who had a turbo system installed in 2000 locally here - runs at only 5 PSI but has worked great for all these years. 4.44 swap after a tranny failure in 2001.

I already fixed the MAF according to the soldering instructions I found here - thanks!

1996 Black LSI 122000 miles, commuter. had a couple legacy sedans wich i loved. Wow this car is awesome! really enjoy all the internet support out there. getting 360 miles per tank. basically a stock car. i upgrade as i go. replaced trunk struts(were for a non spoiler trunk) , drivers turn signal lens (cracked) and passengers mirror (cracked), trunk courtesy light (missing) so far. have the stock wiper blades but replaced them with fiberglass units. might save them for winter. cant wait to do the trans cooler upgrade and swap out the radio for a more modern unit. i am amazed by the quality of this vehicle. need to do every maint on this thing as i never got any maint history. it just started chirping last sunday and i cant figure it out. replaced the alt/ prw steer idler pulley and did a partial p/s flush and it didn't change the chirping. it sounds like i have a birdie stuck in the engine bay. from 30 or 40 mph when braking it will often go chirpity chirp chirp chirp slowing down as the car slows down. it doesnt do it at idle. sounds like its coming from the passengers front side. checked the right front caliper as it can grab sometimes. both in / out pads show even wear, same as the drivers side. i will probably swap out or rebuild the p/s pump as it looks like it it has been leaking for a while. that side of the engine is all gunky. i hope it isn't the flywheel. gonna have my shop throw the borescope all up in it and see whats up. anybody have any ideas? thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

With less miles than you, I went ahead and changed the timing belt, which included changing the pulleys and water pump. Some were making noise when spinning after removal. Also installed the Subaru power steering pump seal kit while at it. All is quiet now. The old using a hose and funnel scope identified the worn pulleys but might as well start clean and replace all if you are going through the trouble.

Finally get to post on here after having some trouble signing up. Picked up a 92 Liquid Silver LSL with 88k miles from a member on here (Geoff) and the car is great, a little thirsty for fuel but nice. Have a few things to address on her, but its a unique car to drive and relieves my GC from daily driving duty also. Hope to learn about the car and all its quirks,lol.

and great interior.
my 1st svx.
always wanted one.
this is how i obtained it:
around april 1 of this year my 1983 caravan was stolen so we bought a 2008 grand caravan.
about 2 weeks after buying the 2008 the 1983 caravan was recovered then sold a few days later.

then on july 10 my 1999 saturn was stolen.
then on july 23 the transmission went out in the 2008 grand caravan about 70 miles from home at 11pm... we had only made 3 payments.

so we were without a daily driver (i also have a porsche 914)

so i started looking for an svx.
on july 24 i put a deposit on solarsvx's svx because he did not have the title yet.
on july 27 my saturn was recovered BUT I WAS GOING TO BUY THIS CAR!!!!
I loved it!!!

AND TODAY WE GOT THE TITLE AND PUT IT IN MY NAME!!!!

my bad luck turned into a very good experience just by being able to buy this car.

Wow! sounds like some bad luck lately.

Car. 94 SVX AWD Borked Front diff
88 SVXT6 (yeah just like Huck369's frankenwedge)

just bought it from a dude wanting to part the whole thing.. I couldn't let that happen, i was sad to scrap the one I got for the Engine swap (it had the same problem, trans died, so people parted it. I was the 15'th owner since it was registered last... all it had was the unwanted interior pieces, the exterior was good, bent rim, no windshield.. yeah... it was sad.. PERFECTLY strait body)
