Not a good weekend for SVX's in Winnipeg
Went to a BBQ on saturday evening, drove home after sunset & parked in garage.
The next morning I was doing some work on the car when I noticed a good portion of my hood had the dust wiped off of it. Upon closer inspection I find 2 hand prints, 3 dings and 5 gouges in the paint. Headlight (brand new Smallcar install) also has a ding and the front bumper is also scuffed. All of this on the driver's (left) side. The best we could come up with is someone drove their bicycle into the (parked) car, cleared the handlebar and landed on the hood...the bicycle handlebars doing the damage. It will be looked at by the insurance company on the 1st. I was told by them to take pictures since it will probably rain by then. If anyone wants to see the pics to see if they can come up with a better story I will post them. I know my insurance company isn't going to like me since I just put in a claim on that headlight then told them to take it back as I wasn't going to pay $400 for the new assembly and to keep the old assembly. So this isn't just about me. Matt (Svxfreq) gave me a call on sunday, "You'll never guess what happened to me." He goes on to tell me someone slid across his hood. I could only assume Hazzard County style. So now he has scratches in his (freshly painted) hood as well. I'll let him go into any further detail on his car is he so wishes.
