you misunderstand Jman... Final drive is commonly misconstrued for the differential ratio... This is not the case.

The front diff on the 07 trans is probobly still a diff ratio of 3.90 much like the wrx... Also like the wrx it has a 1.1:1 step down ratio for the rear drive. This allows the use of a 3.545 differential... now multiply 3.545 by 1.1 and what do you get??? 3.9... thus the compatability of a 3.90 front diff and a 3.545 rear diff... Now these calcs won't be exact as they are rounded figures but you get what I mean... Anyway the purpose is to reduce the rotations the driveshaft sees in order to reduce u-joint wear and also allows for stronger bearings to be used in the U-joints. it also helps to keep vibrations from the driveshaft at high speeds to a minimum

This also means MORE forces applied to the rear diff gears, so easier to shread the gears

no one in an SVX has been able to shred out gears?? Why would a 3.545 R180 be any more suseptible?? SHould be just fine

I was just thinking that the SC-EG33 just "Might" put out a little more torque than a stock EG33.....but I could be wrong I suppose

so the gears arent actually longer and the 07 wont have a higher top speed theoretically. the torque split from front to rear is all thats really different from the change in diff gears.

the 07 does have wider 2,3 gears and I believe that 6 gear is too

Understandable... but non-built blown motors have had r160's without issue. I think the built motor is gonna take some time to go through an r180

I did 7 g tech runs last night (closed privately-owned road) The best run was a 12.66 @ 104.1mph and the worst was 12.98 @???mph. It is dead level and dead straight. I know it is just a G tech but it really makes me want to get out and get an official time now.

Well..... i have it. My '07 6 spd. I got to the kids house last night at about 8pm and left at about 6:05AM. Stuff that I got: 6 spd, rear end, 4 axles, starter, clutch, master cylinder, pedal box, steering wheel, shifter trim, driveshaft. Stuff that I am selling on ebay: front brembos, airbag sensors. All in all I think that for the stuff I am keeping it will work out to have cost me almost $2k even. Deal of a lifetime......
