Thanks

About the mileage, i thinks i messed up about miles vs km, its has 79.000 km on it now, and the silver 1 that my bro has, is about 90.000 km.

Mine was at 19.000 km when i got it
It belonged to the wife of the guy that runs the Subaru dealership here in Iceland and it spent some years in the dealership, nobody wanted it !!!

It was similar with the silver 1, not sure about the other 2.

Those pics are very, very nice. Lovely cars. And such low mileage!!

Are you short of roads up there, or what's the story??

We get many Icelanders traveling to Dublin for shopping trips around Christmas time. If you are ever in town anytime, give me a shout and we will meet up.

You say it is RHD? Unless I can't see very well, it appears that both cars you pictured are LHD models. So, are the steering wheels on the wrong sides of the cars or do you drive on the wrong sides of the road?

Both very nice low mileage cars. I am envious.

Hola

Hey everybody, I'm Willie, I don't own an SVX, but wanted one in high school, does that count? I'm 24, and my fiance' Marisa (cozykat) owns a red 93 SVX, so I joined this forum mostly to help her scour for solutions whenever her car is having problems. I probably will never post anything useful, unless I do decide to get an SVX of my own.

Peace :-D

What's with this "wrong" side Lee??

Do you realise you can't get into trouble driving the car on the "wrong" side?? All the controls and stuff are on the other side, and you go nowhere, fast.

New owner of a SVX. 94 Bordeux Perl LSi. Found the group while searching for photos to use on Yahoo Customs till I got good pictures of mine up. I also have a 97 Impreza Outback Sport that is my real prodject. I got my SVX off my Sister-in-Law as she is a bit on the pregnant side(due in June). I'm in a pretty big Subaru family with a real apreciation for them. I picked it up durring the baby shower and drove it back from NJ(would have been a nice drive if not for an accident on 84 just before Hartford. I've already tested the compacity to which it will be stuffed thanks to going to Sam's Club with my mother and she filling one of those flatbed carts. >.< (I doubted but should have know better. I mean I fit 8 people and their back packs in my Impreza. One thing. Anyone find a fix yet for that damned vizor without buying a newone for 80 buck and have it break?

There is a plastic clip on Ebay, you can make one, or do what I do.

Turn the visor towards the windsheild when you are not driving it. This temporarily reverses the drooping effect, at least on my car. They only droop an inch or so though.
If I leave them forward for a while then put them back they pop right into place and do not droop unless I leave them in place for a couple days.

Summer is here and the sun is out, so right now I just leave them to the sides to keep from being blinded. I imagine being unloaded they should again pop right into the resting position if I so willed it, but I like them on the sides.

Welcome to the site.

I've been visiting this forum occasionally for a while, and decided to buy an SVX fairly soon. Hoping to find lots of useful info here!

Introduction

Hi,
I just joined this group. I've decided to keep and restore my 92 teal SVX. I've had it since it was new and we've gone through a lot together. I looked at new cars and couldn't find anything as good for under 50 grand. I've been searching the forum for the last week and amazed to find out that the other SVX have the same problems I've had for years. I just replaced the power steering o-ring and fixed a problem I've had for years. Thanks for starting this.
Mike

New SVX owner with Issues

Hi, I'm Patrick Hogan and recently inherited an SVX from my son. I've posted
once about my son's demise and his great appreciation of SVX's and this
community. So now I have his (second) well used SVX with 159000 miles
and loads of leaks. valve covers, cam seals, power steering to name the
worse. My delema is; do I find a mechanic & fix this engine or have someone
swap in the SVX engine that is hanging in my haybarn. It has fewer miles
but who knows how many leaks &/or other issues. Anyone know a good
mechanic anywhere near Albuquerque? I live 3 hours north of Albuquerque
and have a totally dismantled '92 SVX plus this one (also "92) that runs
great, looks OK but smokes like a chimney.

Hey Patrick, I remember reading about your son. What your doing is great. My advice is to order an engine reseal kit (Think they are about 200$ on subaruparts) and replace the front seals, valve cover gaskets, ect. on the new motor, and then drop it in.You could even go the extra mile and clean it up real nice before you put it in Ive done a sucessfull engine transplant myself, with a borrowed hoist, and it wasnt all that hard for a newfangled car.

And to Not...I have a friend from Moscow. The last time she visited she spotted a claret svx parked on the street, and took a picture. Talk about a rare find!

Good idear Eric, Engine reseal kit, rebuild engine with fewer miles & drop
in. Sounds easy (right!) but that's a good place to start.
