Red 95 I thought it was a FWD L model cuz of the X33 in the vin but my mechanic had it up on the lift an theres axels and a dif back there. when he turned the rear drive shaft by hand both rear wheels spun. Does this mean AWD?
its only got 65k on it. It had 57k when i bought it. I'm pretty sure I just saved from it the scrap heap. Its been leaking oil from everywhere the power steering is gone the axels are popping. I was just gonna dump it, but despite all this I've decided to fix it.
The shop is going to fix most of that for $1000 including timing belt water pump valve cover gasket an spark plugs
What shop, if you don't mind me asking? Seems like a fair deal, maybe one worth driving an hour for. It's nice to see another (somewhat) local member here. Welcome.

Re: Every member please check in here!

Cheers,

Wheels were put on by a previous owner with good taste. They definitely modernise the car, not a big fan of the stock alloys.
Hopefully I get to drive it this week! transmission blew a day after my last place of work closed down and I found myself out of work, so it's been out of action for a couple of months till I got my new job.

I think I may have seen your SVX around - what is the number plate?

(........and I am also "checking in"!!)

Jason.
Probably not yet as it's still undergoing some restoration. Only did it's first shakedown run last Sunday, and now it's back under the knife for some more fine tuning.

I'll post in the Down Under section once it's closer to being ready, and my wallet is properly empty.

outfront motorsports aka accel import repair
i found them on NASOIC. they specialize in hopped up subie motors for dune buggys. the owner has a tribeca motor with a huge turbo hanging off it in his 4 seat buggy with a claimed 700hp

anyway, i just got my car back today. running like a champ.
Now that the motor is square Im thinking about the ECUtune stage 1 and TCU. Mostly for the claimed gas mileage increase. Im only getting 20mpg
Anyone with this mod, does it work?

Thanks for the info. I'd perused their site once or twice before. I might give them a shout, seeing as my local guy hates anything not OEM. I told him about my Stage2 ECU kit and he said "tear that stuff out before it kills your engine". I've never heard of such a thing happening, and seeing as he loves to tell me about the 5 speed '98 SVX, I really believe he doesn't have a freakin clue about this car. I'm just happy to hear a good review about any Subaru shop within 100 miles of me.

My car has the aforementioned ECUTune Stage 2v7f upgrade. This is a lot more than the Stage 1 chip, so a direct comparison isn't apt, however I will say that I still manage 19-20MPG after the upgraded chip/injectors/etc. With that in mind, I assume that the Stage1 certainly couldn't hurt your mileage and may even give you a little boost in power, which can't hurt either.

What's wrong with it? Why crush it? Better to sell it to Earle! (or somebody)

Same question as the others, WTH would you crush it? It looks better than most out there and is lower mileage than most out there.
