Vent Problem

Okay this one is weird. Windows were getting foggy, so I turned on the Defrost and set the fan to high. It went for about 5 seconds, and quit. I Switched it back to low, then back to high...no dice, but I hear a weird clicking noise coming from the passenger's side every time I change the fan setting. It's only one single click when I change the setting.

Any ideas?

sounds like a Relay is bad.

Imprezzed, The FSM shows a self diagnostic mode to be used with the system in Section 4-7 but it appears a Select Monitor may be required to pull the codes. Relay and fuse info is also shown, but obviously I couldn't be sure the USDM and Canadian models are the same.
I could scan the pertinant pages and e-mail them to you, but you may be better off trying to get the info from a Canadian-model owner.
There's a D: Blower motor speed does not change" Diagnostic step indicating possible auto amplifier, fan control amplifier or HI relay(BM5) problem. The HI relay, blower and amps all appear to be behind the glovebox. This section of the manual is 139 pages. Any help??

run the diagnostics, then look at the fan section and start testing. I doubt any of us have enough info to point you to the one thing without more tests.
