In that case a car without ABS would brake just as well as one with. But now throw a wet road into the equation. A car without ABS could lock one of its wheels, causing the car to veer to one side (which could lead to the car to spin around). The car with ABS would not allow wheel lockup, thus preventing any unwanted direction changes.

I agree with Tom that my 94 LE will do 140+ and seems considerably faster than all of my others. It also, has by far the most miles on it. It "seems" faster in all respects, but since I have never taken it to the track I can not provide times to prove this. It also does not have ABS and I like that personally even though I admit to the ABS advantages of stopping on wet surfaces.

The data listed above that says i have a 136 mph speed limiter in my car is not true... not saying its the smartest thing i've done, but i've gone 145 in my car... so frankly, if the top speed is wrong, what makes the rest of legit?

I understand that, but personally I feel just as confident driving around in wet conditions without ABS as I do with ABS. This is not the point of the conversation though.

There is absolutely no reason for the FWD non-ABS SVX to have a larger braking distance than the other models. Enough said.

That may be so, but i had about 3 % larger tires on the car at the time, and anyway you look at it, the guage won't be 12 mph + off
