We move it to coincide with READING next year...?? Just a thought... I really want this to happen before my car and I get too old...

Have a West and East meet and then every 2nd year do a central to get the two groups together... ??

I'm open to suggestions and I'm in a position right now to help ramrod the thing if ya all want me to...

You know you have to count me in, because I'm the one that came up with the idea in the first place!
Anytime in June works for me. Can't do it 4th of July if anyone's thinking that.
We have to get more people interested in this.......

Those 3 weekends in June we were playing with would work best for me. April (to coincide w/ Reading) would be too early for me.

It would be really great to have a Western SVX meet.

Father's day weekend would not be good for me bacause that's also the weekend of the 2004 national DeLorean Car Show (my other toy) (June 17-20).

As you get later into summer you may want to hold the meet at Tahoe. Reno can get very hot in the summer. You can then use the 'caravan' day to go over the hill into Reno to the car museum. They can arrange a lunch in the museum for the group. I've already done this same event for my DeLorean group plus I put on a big Gullwing car show in San Ramon in 2001.

There are lots of little details to take care of and it will cost some $$ to use the hotel facilities, but it can be a real blast to put on and attend a big event.

If anyone might have missed the poll in the General Babble section, please vote here . Mitch is just trying to get an idea of when we want to do this so he can start getting an idea on reserving facilities, etc.

Mitch, just go ahead and set the date!!!!
I voted but it really doesn't matter to me which weekend in June it is. In the last week or so only ten people have voted and you still can't pick a definite weekend cause the votes are evenly distributed.
I suggest to take Fathers Day weekend out of the formula (again, it doesn't matter to me) because as soon as Fathers day was mentioned people stopped signing up

And lets get the sign up list going again - there's only three people on it.
Just my 2 cents.

OK, I just bought my first SVX and will travel anywhere, and rather speedily! So count me in, any weekend in June 2004.

I've held June 26 2004 at the Museum. I have not contacted the caterer yet.

LOL I was thinking the same thing Mitch, I just didn't want to make any more waves than I have been lately.

But yeah, this thread seems to have trouble getting in the right directions. To be fair, we in the west are new at this, I'm sure in the beginning the Reading meet sign up lists were as scattered as well. They just make it look easy these days.

I'll add mine to to the list as I'm gonna do my best to come. Just need to work out the details and make sure its a 2500+mile each way drive worthy event! (which I'm sure it will be if your working on the planning this far ahead.

). Oh yeah, I'll need to get the approval of the wife though.
