Suspension bushing kit - what have you used?

I'm in need of all new bushings in my front suspension (and probably at least one ball joint). I searched the forum but only found a couple of older posts that didn't prove as helpful as I'd hoped.

Does anyone here have a recommendation on a bushing kit? If not, can anyone tell me what bushings I'll need for the front?

I can't drive my car because of this. Any help would be most appreciated!

Get a hold of Earthworm. He has Poly bushings in stock.

I just went with OEM for a ball joint replacement on the recommendation of a non dealer mechanic who I trust.

Never heard back, so I ordered these:

They're coming from Poland. not sure how long THAT's going to take.

Re: Suspension bushing kit - what have used?

Many folks on the forum have used those with varied success as far as fitment and comfort goes. There's 2 levels of firmness available.
If you do a search you should find a lot of posts about them.

Re: Suspension bushing kit - what have used?

I probably wouldn't know the difference myself, but as long as they fit I'll be fine. I ordered the less expensive (by a few bucks) set, so they'll probably be a little softer, which will be fine by me.

I just need to get them to my mechanic so he can put 'em in. I've gotten to old and fat to pull wrenches anymore, except for simple things like alternators and such. As much as I'd like to save money, at this point I'd rather just pay a guy with a lift and air tools (and a hydraulic press).

After this, I ***THINK*** my next major thing is paint and body work.

Re: Suspension bushing kit - what have used?

Well, a month and a few e-mails later and no word from the fine folks in Poland who took my $146.

I'll have to Google how to say "scam" in Polish I guess.

Re: Suspension bushing kit - what have used?

I wouldn't be too worried. A lot of people have ordered from them with no problems.

Re: Suspension bushing kit - what have used?

Unfortunately my SVX is my daily driver (I know, I know... not the best choice for reliable transportation), so I've been working from home and splitting time between my wife's 2015 Edge and my mother's 2011 Forester. But after a month without even hearing back on the parts, I'm thinking I should just bite the bullet and order OEM stuff from the dealer. That way at least, I can let them have their cars back.

Then I can wait a month or so before I borrow their cars again while I get mine painted!

Re: Suspension bushing kit - what have used?

Thanks for the reply/help!

I'm not smart enough to be able to appreciate what you're showing me there, but based on comments I'm sure it's very nice. I understand some basic parts/principals of suspension but I'm too ignorant to really know how to appreciate upgrades.

I just wanted to replace all the bushings up front.

As it turns out the ones I ordered finally came in (just when I was about to give up). Way to go, Poland, I guess. Now I just need to get the car to my mechanic. Super busy at work and home lately, and then we just had to evacuate for a few days due to a tropical cyclone ("hurricane", as we call it here). I **MAY** actually try to get the car to him tomorrow.

Again, while I can't really understand what your suspension mods are, I can appreciate the effort/expense and, most of all, your willingness to try to help!
