SVX Newbie - What To Look For When Buying?

Firstly, my apologies if this has been covered a billion times already...

Basically, I'd like to know what I should look for if I'd like to get an SVX, besides the usual used car stuff. I know the tranny's health is a must-check.

Is there a specific year I should be looking for?

Aaah, it was the AWD ability I was losing my head over. So a '94 LSi or up..?

My SVX would pretty much start out its new life as a project car, so the tranny bits aren't a huge deal right off the bat.
