CD display light out
The light on the LCD display of my stock CD player burned out recently so that I can't tell what track I'm on at night. The numbers display is still there, just no green backlight at night. All the other lights on the CD player portion of the stereo still light up, the buttons, the two "aiming" lights on the slot, etc.
Minor inconvenience, but if there was a way to fix this I might. Is it possible to fix this light? I imagine it would be hard enough to take the CD player apart to change a regular bulb, but this is part of the LCD display so not sure how that would work. Thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks!

Mine went out but came back on when I hit it hard. That told me that the led wasn't out, just a cold solder joint. I replaced it w/ a pioneer unit after it eat a brand new cd. I had to take it apart to get my new, never listened to cd out. I am much happier w/o it now anyway. Looks like this is a good reason to upgrade.

Sleepum fixed some lights on his and some others a while back. It can be done. We may be able to talk him into doing it to a couple more.

Yes, an upgrade is in the plans, but I'm holding out for something spendy so figured if there was a free fix to get me by for a few more months I'd do it, if not, just deal with not being able to see it in the dark.
