Re: Welcome to the 30th Anniversary Meet Forum

So in the email I thought somebody mentioned a pickup full of spare SVX parts, but I cannot find who it is in the blog. My Teal 1992 LS had the alternator crap out at 105,000. That put some wobble in the main belt. That loosened the bolt on the pulley on the right side cam shaft, and a rocking pulley tore up the camshaft. No parts. I bought an engine from a wrecked '97 with 75,000 miles on it. Pulling out the camshaft and replacing the old shaft now. She will be good as new in May and she loves road trips.
If anyone needs an odd engine part, let me know. We can all share.

When I first read this post, I was wondering to myself why you didn't just throw the entire engine in there, but then I remembered the OBD II and other items may make that a nonstarter. My '92 has a '97 transmission in it, which has been working beautifully for more than five years, but the engine is a separate show. In any event, if you've got an AC compressor in good shape, let me know, I've been on the lookout for one. Haven't had working AC in my '92 for a couple years, which is growing tiresome. It is great right now since it's freezing out, but will become a right handful to operate in warm weather....

Mechanic is just removing my camshaft from its brethren engine parts. Will ask him about AC compressor. Has there been any recent updates on Lafayette in May?

Don’t worry about showing up in something besides an SVX. A nice Bentley 1960 S2 HJ Mulliner body Continental will do well.

Now that I have two, clearly it's not an issue, but I'm looking forward to this meet and hopefully Reading if that takes place.
I rarely see them on the road, strangely there is another, a 92 White with black top 5 houses down the street in Newport RI. Go figure…

No, nothing else that I know of. One of my biggest concerns is, if they are going to do a factory tour as in years past, when will that be? If it's on Friday, I probably won't make it there in time as I'll be driving that day. In any event, we'll see.

All the cars and one truck have all been to Reading when I owned them, and there have been an odd assortment of other interesting cars to show up as well. Would love to see an older Bentley there.

I checked my parts engine. Sad to say it is stripped of accessories. No AC compressor for you.

AC compressor can be rebuilt. I sent mine to a firm in Texas.

If anyone can bring a couple of doors, I may actually drive out there.

Re: Welcome to the 30th Anniversary Meet Forum

At this point two months to go, do we have any idea how many attendees there might be for this event?

Re: Welcome to the 30th Anniversary Meet Forum

This is the latest from SVXNATION. I have some doubts about turnout based on questionable gas prices and available parking for a large group. Plus the early morning plant tour

Re: Welcome to the 30th Anniversary Meet Forum

I appreciate the update on potential numbers. Actually, better than I expected it to be, and I agree there may be fall out due to gas prices. Selfishly, I did not want to drive all the way from CA if there were only going to be a small handful of SVX there.

I believe I indicated I was a maybe, but I will most likely be there. The only question is if it's in my SVX or my Outback. Planning SVX at this point.

Keep us posted on any new developments please.
