Wrong. Saying "Apple Mac" is like saying "Subaru SVX," in that all SVXes are Subarus but not all Subarus are SVXes, just as all Macs are Apples but not all Apples are Macs. To fully expand the descriptive, we would say Subaru SVX Car (or automobile) just as we would say Apple Mac Computer. All Apple Macs are computers, but not all computers are Apple Macs. To further refute your contention, saying "car vehicle" is definitely not redundant, because not all vehicles are cars. Now, if you want to get into redundancies, we can all talk about it over a tuna fish sandwich.

ARGH. Look, I've had apple computer for over 10 years now. NOBODY CALLS THEM F*CKING APPLE MACS!!!!!!!!! You either call them an APPLE COMPUTER, or a MACINTOSH computer. If you go into CompUSA and ask for an APPLE MAC they're going to look at you like you're an idiot. It is NOT APPLE MAC. To make it sound even DUMBER, SHISVX capitalized eveyrthing, when MAC is different from Mac. MAC is some other computer company, Mac is the product that the company APPLE SELLS.

Who's arguing. I'm explaining the errors in your comments. I could care less what anything is called. Call 'em what you want, as long as people understand what you're asking for. If I, personally, am not worried about looking stupid, then, you shouldn't be concerned, now, should you? If you continue to try to go around "correcting" everyone on every little thing based on your single minded experiences, you are going to be in for big trouble.

Heh... I just read through this thread and got very confused. Mac/PC wars, subaru to computer analogies, odd references to fords, and lots of caps. Its got it all!

But uhh, chill out everyone. The Apple/PC arguement is never going to go anywhere. As ma' poppy always says, "Argueing with a fundamentalist is like mudwrestling with a pig - you get dirty and the pig just gets mad" ... So, don't try to convince me to use a pc, I wont try to convince you to use a mac (but I will point out how sexy they are! mmm... sexy computer) ...

And uhh, the rest of the thread... I'm going to have to reread a few more times before I understand it...

I'm happy. I'll be much happier when one element of these seemingly ongoing "rants" is eliminated, but, I'm happy. Of course, I may be even happier if I eliminate myself from these forums completely. It's something I've been thinking about more and more. The ol' homeplace just aint the same.

Back to topic, this is getting to be a complete chaos and definately out of topic on major scale. Period.

As for which computer is better than the other, I personally don't care. For the OS, I love *nix. Anything I can run a *nix is good with me.

I havent even looked at this thread in days because ive been really sick lately, but i had no idea this was going on in here. I think someone needs to grow the eff up. This is getting absolutely horrendous. Threads like this make me both sad and angry because I know what this place used to be like.
