Looking forward to meeting some of the Nor'easters who weren't able to get out to the 10th. We have an extra set of custom floor mats in tan that we are not using. They are not as heavy as the origionals and may serve as a good replacements for the winter months. We'll bring them along.

I'll try to make it

I really want to go, but I have to try to get out of work. If I do come you'll recognize me in the oh-so-cool Toyota Camry station wagon.

other vehicles

Viper,

Don't worry. I have several people who are coming in something other than an SVX: two of them are driving Legacy's and one has a Saab!

Let's keep this going... 10 people is a good start, but I KNOW there are more NErs out there.

Last time an Impreza club held a meet at the same time as ours. This time it's just an SVX meet....meaning the one and only attraction this time around is the SVX. I don't think that is unfair.

Dave
Unfortunately I can't make it cause I'll be camping/offroading in Central NC that weekend. If I was going to come though I'd probably show up with at least 3-4 WRXs and 3-4 2.5RSs and I'd probably try to get as many other imprezas out there just cause they are subies like the SVX. You need to step down off your high horses...

Dadgummit! I get a little upset when I see comments like these. Just because someone wants to get a bunch of SVXes together, people get their panties in a wad. It's not a "high horse" thing. Like I've said before, SCOA is available for the "all suby" crowd. Some SVXers are members of SCOA and they attend the functions. It's a great club with wonderful events. Find one near you.

Now, consider, as an example, someone wants to have a Taurus meet. They (for whatever reason) would think it would be neat to just see a bunch of Tauri (is that the plural of Taurus?) together in one place. I mean, there are plenty of other Ford's around and it would be great to have an "all Ford" meet. But, they simply want to single out the Taurus for their purposes, and get to meet with folks who are Taurus enthusiasts. In this case, If I owned an LTD, or an Escort, or . . . some other Ford, I would not think less of the Taurus owners if I weren't invited along, and would respect their entusiasm for their "breed."

Now, I'm personally not a Subaru fan, in the least. I am an SVX fan (I've said this many times over the past three years, so, it's no secret), and, I'm personally not interested in attending an all suby meet (I'm speaking in general terms for the purpose of explanation, since I won't be coming to this NE meet). It isn't because I think I'm better than "any" suby. It's just that other suby's don't interest me.

So, quit getting all "icky" about people wanting to have like vehicles in one place. Join SCOA and go to their functions and have yourself a good time, but don't give SVXers trouble, just because they want to have an all SVX get together. Sheesh!

I know you're joking, but, some *may* be offended by that remark. I just want to clarify that I don't think other suby's are crap. They just don't really "trip my trigger." Although, I have to admit, I think the Baja might be kinda fun in a novel sort of way.

You do realize that most subies share tons and tons of stuff, SCOA is not really in existence anymore.

You do sound and ARE elitist when you exclude other subies from your events. Not a problem, there are plenty of groups that are not elitist like this one. Subies aren't exactly growing on trees so when you have a niche brand you bond with others of the brand, your high and mighty SVX is not much different than other subies.

oh "I" just HAVE to comment on that one...

<<your high and mighty SVX is not much different than other subies>>

No..not much..like say the 3.3L engine NOT used in ANYother Suby or the SPLIT window, or the dash, or the styling or... the list goes on.

Ya sure my blinker switch is the same as is my high-beam button and cruise button, but to say the SVX is "not much different" is an injustice.

I think we've BEATEN the 'high and might' thing out already. We are NOT. We ARE SVX though! Unique...and we like it that way.

We did NOT exclude other Subies (or other vehicles for that matter), we just didn't want other groups. Last year we had several 'other' cars including a MONSTER truck to follow us around incase we needed to get pulled out of some mud. The WRXes where wonderful to see...and to test drive.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. Apparently, my point was not made. That's fine. I can't help it if SCOA is essentially inop. Perhaps you should start a new version. Subies pretty much grow on trees around here. There's an Outback or a Forester around every corner, and, this hasn't been a popular sales area for Subaru in years past. I even followed an RHD Legacy wagon into town the other day. I rarely see an SVX, unless I meet Steve Wasion for lunch. Random sightings have been 3 in the past four years.

I'll echo Jeff's disdain for the "not much different" remark, adding to it that the car was mostly hand assembled in its own dedicated plant . . . shares its platform with nothing else . . . was engineered from the ground up . . . I could go on -- Oh, and it isn't made any more. No, that's not elitist, just different.

Again, I have nothing against Subarus as a whole and I have nothing against all-Subaru events. But if you're having a Gynecologists convention, Thoracic Surgeons and Neurosurgeons really don't belong there, just cuz they're Doctors, and I don't think they should think the Gyno's are elitist because they didn't invite them.

here' here'

I couldn't have said it better myself.

That said, I don't think gynecologists are that unique, maybe physiatrists (a term I just learned about). I'll give anyone a donut who can correctly pronouce that one without looking it up.

So, are you delivering my donut to KY, or, shipping it to my office in Indiana?
