Re: Anyone else feel that earthquake?

I am about 25 miles from the epicentre. Our cupboards emptied themselves and stuff fell down everywhere. It moved a 225 lb television about 10 inches across my dresser and very nearly fell.
The steeple of the church in nearby Gracefield collapsed.
Apparently it was around 5.5 on the Richter scale, by far the biggest quake ever in these parts and the biggest I ever felt. You could hear the rumble for about a minute.

You guys enjoy those earthquakes, I'll keep my nice predictable hurricanes.

Seriously though, I hope no one got hurt or anything?

Re: Anyone else feel that earthquake?

All of Ottawa felt it. I was standing under 3 ton van doing exhaust work at the time. Got out of there pretty quick.

I haven't heard any harm done so far aside from broken plates and tipped over cabinets.

Oui, c'est vrai!
J'ai vu une spectacle a Gatineau hier soir avec Plume Latraverse et Les Trois Accord.
C'est fantastique!

My place had minor breakage of stuff but my neighbor who has a house full of Canadiana and old china is going to cry. The place looks like it was trashed by vandals.
Two of my cats were totally traumatized. One stayed under the couch for over 12 hours.
