Re: fuel light

This just happened to me the other day! My main fuel gauge has NEVER worked for the 10 years I've owned the car, but I've always been able to rely on the low fuel warning light to be 100% accurate.

Never been able to get a solid answer here as to how to address the fuel gauge problem and it seems like half of us have faulty ones. But the warning light seems to be consistently reliable and this is the first thread I've seen about it. Then it happens to me, full tank of gas, warning light still on!

Maybe I'll see what happens in 2 or 3 fill ups first. I wouldn't know where to begin with pulling out sensors, much less testing them with gas and electricity!

Re: fuel light

At 166,000 miles, so far I've been lucky. The gauge is wildly pessimistic, which I would rather have than the other way around. I've only seen the low fuel light once in the three years I've had the car, and it went right out when I filled the tank. Oh well, just another thing to think about when trying to keep our beauties alive.
