St Michaels Concours d'Elegance

This was the first annual St Michael's Concours d'Ellegance held out on the Eastern shore of Maryland. It was a first class event with top notch cars. I got up at 4:30 to catch the sunrise and start photographing the cars.

I am meeting with the board to discuss providing an automotive daytimer using all my imagery from that day.

Speaking as one who has been to Pebble Beach for the past 32 years, that was one great show. I saw Fangio drive a monoposto Alfa like that one at Monterey in 1988, and the spiders are my favorite sports cars. (I'm an Alfisti, I have a '91 164.) One I haven't seen before is the Duesenberg boattail speedster. Is that a replica body, or is it just a real one that hasn't been on the show circuit before?

I've never had the pleasure of attending Pebble Beach. It is one of my goals in the next 5 years. I want to get my company to send me but that's another story.

Having said that, this was a Pebble Beach quality show in a beautiful setting and a managable amount of cars. I was there from 6:30am to 1 and never lacked for something to take a photo of.

The Alfa monoposto has Juan Fangio's faded name on it so probably the same vehicle you saw rounding the circuit. I'll post more pictures when I get some time.
