Yeah baby! They're all backwards! But for $800, what can you expect? I was able to drive it home 40 miles at 60mph in 95 degree temp, so we're off to a good start. It has major exhaust leak. But that's OK, exhaust is my thing. There is also a miss of some kind, but there's a CEL to go along with it. It was hard to notice with the exhaust as bad as it is. There are a few dings that PDR should be able to take care of. The tranny works well. It's got 206K on it, but the interior isn't all that bad. The paint is still real glossy. The short list is:

Make it run correctly
new exhaust from 02s back
wheels + tires
4.11 or 4.44 AT
PDR + paint front bumper(maybe the black top to Claret as well)
tint windows
ECU Tune and/or n2o

I'm not spending more than $3000 this time though. Oh well, time to go turn some wrenches. It's good to be back.

Stephen

Congrats on your purchase. So how many spare SVX exhausts do you have for your new car?

...or did you just keep hacking up the same set?

Dr. Frankenhack here. And I'm in need of some front pipes and I don't have a single SVX exhaust part leftover. I can't believe it's been three years.

Hey Stephen. I think I'll be heading over to Portland sometime in the next month. Maybe I can stop by. Are you still at the same place?

Yup, please do. This car is really shaping up nicely and cheaply. I fixed the misfire for $40 with two o2 sensors. I fixed the PS pump for 20 cents. Brand new Mustang wheels for $225 and 80% BS Turanzas for $180. Fixed all the exhaust probs with one new main cat at Meineke for $220. I sold my welder awhile back. Still need to clean the EGR and replace the crank sensor 2 and the motor will be good to go. It's amazingly smooth and quiet for 206K. And I couldn't be happier with the way the exhaust sounds. I won't have to mess with it this time around. But I think the front diff is about to explode. That'd make it 3 for 3 in my SVXs. But a 4.44 was in the immediate future anyway so that's OK. Only $1500 in so far and things are looking good. It's good to be back.

Stephen

EVO?!? I didn't know Subaru made the EVO. That's almost like EVIL. Oh well, you are still invited.

Yep, I wanted a four door car, so I sold the SVX about six months ago. Nice job with fixing up the SVX. Its amazing how many miles they can go.
