5spd swap rear diff question

I called the dealer and they told me that the 2002 Legacy GT 4.11 rear end is Limited Slip. If this is correct, can the Legacy half shafts be used in order to avoid the need for an SVX rear diff? Search brought up a few posts that talked about this, but no one really laid down the verdict. This would be for a FWD car so we don't want to have the added expense of acquiring an SVX diff and doing the r & p swap if we don't have to. Thanks.

Stephen

No it won't work... Sorry... The problem lies on the hub side of the axles. THey will not fit into the SVX hub properly. You would need the SVX LSD carrier and need to use SVX axles. The only axles we could use are the STi R180 axles that I use but you would also need an r180 to go with it

I do have the SVX diff and axles if u want just send me a PM
