Bad engine mounts or just a really firm shift?

I keep nearly forgetting about this, but when I had my friend come over to jump my SVX I had him shift the thing while I watched the radiator.

I've never been able to do both at the same time so this is the first time I've seen this.

I had him shift from park to drive, and to reverse, and upon going to D or R I **** you not the entire engine jumped like 2 inches forward.

Now it has always done this. I could feel it. I just was never able to see it being in the driver's seat with the hood down and all. Seems kinda freaky that it would move that much. It moves even more than when you whomp on the throttle.

I think this is how a part of my underhood insulator thing got torn. It's been torn for a long time, too.
Small tear where it met the old alternator or bracket or something.

Now, the shifts feel incredibly firm, and rpm makes no difference.

I'm wondering if this is a normal occurance for people with smallcar shift kits or a sure sign my engine mounts need to be replaced, and what is the potential harm of the forces involved.

I'l try to get video because my concern is with what people with PWR radiators have made somewhat clear is it requires more clearance than oem, and I have a feeling my crank pulley would smash right into it.
