Unhappy Sniff, sniff...

The Justy's sold, man. It's weird. I mean, it's still in my driveway, and I'll drive it or the rest of the week, but it's sold.

I'm going to miss that little car. We've been through a lot together.

i cried like a baby when i sold my 93 geo prizm. i bought it new on 23 may 1993 on when i passed it on to a coworkers daughter on 06 dec 2003, i wasn't sure if i was going to make it. i still haven't ruled out taking it off her hands when she decides to move on from it.

I can relate. Before the SVX, I'd owned only four cars that were mine outright (that is, in which one of the wives had no interest): A 1966 Galaxie 500, a 1968 Mustang, a 1986 GL wagon, and a '90 Legacy LS. Selling the Mustang really tore me up, and parting with that gallant old wagon was even worse. It's a pain getting so attached to things.

Yes, but a member of another site. I didn't even get around to putting the Justy in the paper - I posted on a board for central Illimois car enthusiasts and it was sold a week later. The guy came from nearly three hours away to look at it, and he's gotta do it again Saturday to come get it.

Well, the Justy burbled away this afternoon. I'm really going to miss it, but now I get to order the race tires and struts for the MR2.

I recommend Falken Azenis Sports and a set of Koni yellows with ST springs, a set of High & Tight (Prothane) bushings and new ball joints/tie rod ends. Finish it off with a High & Tight rear sway bar kit and a ST front with a set of High & Tight endlinks for the front (because the rear bar kit comes with endlinks for the rear.) Follow this all up with a new set of OEM rotors and Porterfield R4S pads all around and you'll be in good auto-x form. If you still have $$ left buy braided stainless brake lines, braided stainless clutch line and brass shifter bushings to help tighten the car up even more.

You can find most of the stuff I recommended here:

Thanks for the recommendations, but since I want to stay in E Stock, I can't replace the springs or endlinks or put in a new bar. Since the car was, however, built before '92, I can put in stainless brake and clutch lines. I'll probably get the clutch line from Twos R Us and the brake lines from...some manufacturer a friend recommended. I can't remember.

Anyway, Koni inserts are getting ordered this week with the tires.

Speaking of tires, while the Azenis are probably nice for the street, I'm putting on R-compounds. I got an extra set of OEM 'triangle' wheels and I'm putting 205 Avon Tech Rs.

The Porterfield pads are also planned.

I was going to get a trailer, but that looks like it's going to cost me close to $500 when all is said and done, so I'm going to rig myself up a roof rack to carry my wheels. Much cheaper. I don't usually have to drive more than 20min for an event.

Mr. Pockets,
How do you like the Avon Tech R's? Have you run them before at autocross? I am thinking about Toyos this season.
