78 280Z turbo vs.94svx

I haven't raced or even driven my car as much as I normally did before I lost my job to Mexico.I'm in school now so I'm pretty busy with homework.Well I got a call from a friend who informed me about a 280 turbo that had been racking up on the streets.I did a little research and found out that he ran 8.7 in the eighth which is pretty fast.We arranged to race for 250$ but after I did a visually on his car this sucker had drag radials on,that put a dent in my stomach.We line up the cars and watched the flagman and I let him leave twice to watch his launch,well he left pretty dam good.This time we both left at the same time but I was at his bumper spinning and I noticed that I had stopped him from going farther so I turned my flashers on and hit the 125 shot in second gear and we both hit the halfway mark at about the same time but from there on my svx put at least three cars on him on the big end.I have a buddy who taped the race on a digital camcorder,I will ask him about putting it on this site.It still amazes me how hard these cars pull on the bottle and I don't even have the stage 1 chip.My money is being banked for stage2.Also for those who don't know,turning on the flashers indicate a win,turning on the flashers behind someone during a race indicates a murder in progress.For the younger members don't go out and assume you can go pick a 280 turbo now,my car has a lot of time,money and effort into it .

Oh this story just makes me want to drag race every car I see ......Oh man- I'm going on the interstate right now to go weave in and out of traffic and go RACE!!

let's not try to start a fight with them then, hopefully, they will let this thread stay. The more we gripe about them blocking threads, the more likely they are to block this one out of anger.........

The only reason I would post on this subject is just like someone said,we all would like to know how our cars fare againts other cars.One thing I know for sure the svx is very underrated.I have tested my car not raced a built integra turbo with two extra injectors and that car ran high twelves on slicks but from a roll on street tires from forty to about 110 the svx was right there,also I posted about a late runin with a new sti from a 60mph roll to about 125 which he started inching away.It takes a very powerful car to outgun a svx.So don't get me wrong,I don't approve of racing period but if your're pushed you should be able to push back twice as hard.

wow, I just realized that your car is a FWD, I always thought the AWDs would be quicker, but I guess the drivetrain loss makes up for that. Can't wait to see your times when you get the stage 2 installed!!!

The mods don't delete them because of fights and anger. They do it because it encourages unsafe behavior on the public streets.
