I sorta wonder what I'm running the Justy to when I autocross it. The poor little thing doesn't have a rev limiter, and sometimes it's not worth shifting into third. On the street, if I'm in a hurry (stop laughing), I'll run second gear to about 40. It seems to run out of steam beyond there, anyway, so I figure that's pretty close to the engine's supposed 5,800 red line.

Autocrossing I know I've topped 55mph in second.

Have we met?

Actually I took it on trade when I sold my 98 turbo GL10 5 speed to George Wyckoff, he had just rolled it off 68, east bound, at like 55,mph, it was still under warranty at the time...

BTW, butcher is such a harsh word, augment, improve, modify, enhance, those are the words that you use when .....adressing a person, with both passions, and a past....

Where are you finding these? Did Subaru just forget to stop making GL10s and RXs?

That reminds me of a funny story...

You're crazy!!! 60mph is about redline in THIRD in the Justy.

Highest I've revved my Justy was 7000rpm.

I think 60mph is just below redline in second gear in my SVX.
