my impression is that the engine is from a turbo XT... like an engine swap. i dunno if this is true, but i think the auctioneer got it with that turbo engine in it, hooked up as if it was stock, and just decided they must have existed.

i think the car is a REGULAR SVX, but a hissing vacuum leak is believed to be turbo whine.

that turbo really must add a lot of power to get it up to 144 mph!

the site where that car is currently listed for auction is very poorly written, I have to say. But I am thinking more that they were trying to explain the history of the car, since it is so new VS all the older cars up for auction, and the person that wrote the breif history didn't know what he/she was talking about. That site is fake? Oh ok.... go try actually looking around and seeing the other 100's of cars for sale. I believe that this is not a factory produced car, but custom made, none the less a twin turbo svx...

I am at work so can't check the link but the two pages are:

http://www.geocities.com/jamsvx2/initialprototype2.html for the infamous TT mockup

and "police car" here:

http://www.geocities.com/jamsvx2/futuresvx.html

Anyways, what do you mean the twin turbo SVX does not exist?? Why, I have one in my garage...its got a six speed sequential transmission and is convertible too! It came from an auction on SVX Island

Years on, that phrase from the Yahoo Clubs site still cracks me up - 'SVX Island" - like something out of Jurassic Park with SVX's everywhere!

Oh, with the European bright red with a black roof, on the brochure section of my site

there is this photo

http://www.geocities.com/jamsvx/eurocat07.html

then this one

http://www.geocities.com/jamsvx/germansvx12.html

One of them has been photoshopped and I think (think!) it is the one with the black roof since I am 80% sure that the bright red came in the 1994 update which did not have the black roof

Cheers

James

"24,000 of these 144mph GTs with
permanent four-wheel drive were produced 1991-1997." snip

I'm just glad my Stock 92 is 10 MPH faster than the TT's I was worried for a second

If you photochop twin turbos you might do something about the stock airbox... and put in port wet nitros. and a Hemi. and snowmobile trax on the rear wheels.

Collins... Done for now
