Arrow Introductions are in order.

My name is Imprezzed. Well, my handle is Imprezzed. You get the idea. Anyways, I purchased a '92 SVX LS-L in Febuary, and I love this freakin' car. I was looking at the builder's plate on the door, and the car was made in January 92. Wow...an Oldie. Then I came to realize the severe pains in dealing with an older, RARE car. Brake job: $1000 CDN. (Oh yeah, I'm in Halifax, NS, Canada, serving her majesty's Navy) New driver's side upper window: $300 CDN. Wow. But you know what? Every time I go to get in my car, I have the most hugest smile on my face as I get in. This is one of my dream cars. And it's mine. I'm slowly starting to modify the car. The first thing to go was the stock air filter, (Replaced K&N style), the rear speakers (Pioneers) the Stock CD player and Tape Player with a new deck and a single 10 inch sub. Oh yeah...I gots strobes in the front and rear turn signals...it looks pretty chill. I'm just glad to be around a car that carries so much of...well....a cult following.

Any Fellow Canadians in this Forum? Lemmee know.

Glad to be here guys...and gals!

we've got a few brethren from the Great White North (coooo loo-coo-coo-coo-loo-coo-coo!), and it's good to have you join the ranks.

i'm a little surprised at two things you mentioned:

the price of the brake job

and the price of the upper window..

to me, it seems like those prices should be switched.. i always had pretty good luck keeping costs down on brakes, but i thought that window glass was hideously expensive..

There was a little more to the brake job than what I put down. Both Front Rotors, GONE, Warped all to snot, the front left CV joint had to be replaced due to a crack in the boot itself, the anti-sway bars were replaced and the new Nova Scotia MVI.

Total : $989.00 CDN

Total Time spent at Midas Mufflers on a rack: 2.2 weeks

Total lost revenue lost because my SVX was on the rack: Measured in the thousands.

There's one in your back yard of Halifax. SVX_my-baby. Look him up, & welcome to the zoo.

Brakes on this car are super simple man. If you can install a car stereo, you can DEFINITELY do the brakes. This car has some of the easiest brakes ever. Let me know next time you do them, and I'll help you figure it out.

- Rob

PS: Please replace all your speakers, and get an external four channel amp BEFORE you get a sub. You might find you don't even NEED a sub.

repair costs

Even tho I own a repair shop in Ontario, I have access to the same parts as you do.

Bought drilled rotors on ebay; 200usd
pads 65.
rear wheel bearings 35.00

rear pads 35.

Installed them all myself plus a quick turn on the rear rotors for free....

NEVER EVER have your car serviced at MIDAS or Canadian Tire

Find a small independent who will work on Subarus if you acn't get a dealer.

Drop me a note if you ever need help

Richard aka Hotshoe

Dexter's Subaru is the place here. But make sure you ask for Richard. He's the man for SVX. He's factory trained on the SVX and also goes in national mechanic's competitions. Their rates are not much more than places like Midas or Speedy, plus they always wash & vacuum your car.
