EJ20T EJ22T EJ25T etc in svx?

This is something else i keep getting asked by people. they ask y not put an wrx sti engine etc in svx. i said if ya did put 1 in it probly be underpowed.
so my question is how well would 1 work in an svx... and what if it was lets say an modified 500bhp wrx sti engine or etc in it..
i dont want to do it my self. just be good to have an good answer to tell people when they ask

EJ257 swap has already been done....... I just ask people who say that, "Why would I want to downgrade from a 6 cylinder to a 4 cylinder?"

a 2007 4 cylinder can put out more power than a 1992 6 cylinder? technology has progressed significantly. Plus then you'd have room for expansions, such as possibly a twin turbo setup, etc, and there's more developed for the newer engines to make bigger power. But if you did that, I wouldn't count it, cause it wouldn't be an SVX anymore.

Yea our engines dont have the angry helicopter sound that a Turbo'd 2.0l or 2.5l would have

Plus, the new engines are interference design. When the timing belt goes on them, poof, you need new valves.

The "progressive" new 4 cyl (in the WRX) puts out the same power as our mill, but it's turbo'd. What are the numbers when you turbo the EG33? WRX is about 11.5 pounds of boost- anyone boost their EG33 that much?

Performance wise, a 5-speed WRX will hit 60 in just under 6 seconds and hit the 1/4 in about 14.5, with a professional driver burning the clutch out (which you have to do to get any good numbers out of the WRX, as anyone who has driven one knows). Regular drivers usually hit 60 in the low to mid 6s, and the 1/4 in 15s. What are slightly modified SVXs running with 5-speed conversions?

In short, I really don't believe the WRX engine is superior to ours; simply turbo'd with more race-ready rather than luxury bits. If you want to spend the price of a new WRX into an SVX, the SVX will end up faster, better handling, and certainly better looking. But that may just be one man's opinion.

I'm gonna agree with everyone here. Thats half the fun of the SVX, you don't have the broken exhaust sound. BWWAAAMMMPPPP BWWAAAHHH!!! Plus, and even if you are looking to smoke people on the street, most of the kids with their ricey civic's and celicas don't stand a chance. Even being about 1000lb's lighter. The SVX all in all is quite the monster of a car. I can certianly testify to it's..uhh....prowess on the road.

I would like to see what an SVX could do with a turbo'd 3.0 H6 (Like the Perrin build), but I like the EG33, and would use it in some form before I swapped for something else.

Transmissions on the other hand...

they will all fit, with room to spare. Sure, the sti has more aftermarket and more horsepower....but it jsut isnt the same as the 6 cylender. our motors are very nice, smooth revving engines (Hence why people put them in airplanes) that make a nice broad ourque curve. The sti engine in an svx will certianly make it faster, but you have to make sure your in the right gear at the right time all the time, otherwise you arent making the same power

Plus, come on, the 6 cylender just makes it that much more unique
