intake manifold removal... jigsaw puzzle :-)

Man, what a PITA getting the intake manifold off. I think I deserve some Dairy Queen. :-)

Amen! I haven't removed mine, but Svxfiles and I jacked mine up about a 1/2" all around to install the 1/4" phenolic spacers. Talk about a real PITA!!!

it's not that hard... Just unbolt the 3 sensors and disconnect some vaccum lines afiliated with the IRIS system and your almost home free.... then again, I have done it like 15 times

I've done it at least 5 times now. Sometimes it pops off and on easy, a couple of those times I swear I was being tortured. It can be a puzzle - and then when the brittle vacuum lines or connectors break

I had to take mine off too, I won't say it was a pleasant task, but it wasn't torturous either.. what the real PITA was though... replacing all the vacuum lines and relays b/c of some gosh darn little critter that got under there and chewed it all up.. grrr... and I went ahead and did the PCV while I was in there.. but now that I think about it.. I shoulda done the knock sensors and valve covers too... D'OH...!!!!
