Another autocross...

This was my first long course in the car. I really wasn't expecting to go because my mom was visiting for the weekend. But she really wanted to see me race so I decided to go at the last minute. I didn't know the course as well as I should have because I only walked it three times. I should have done it four or five times. The exit out of one of the hairpins always surprised me, and that shouldn't happen. I know better.

Still, I did okay. I didn't win my class, but I was very close and that's good enough considering my level of preparation. I still have a lot to learn about driving this car and setting it up. I'm still using baseline sort of settings - 50% on the struts all around and air pressures recommended by a guy on the MR2 site who uses the same tires.

Each run I knocked a second off - 59, 58, 57, 56, 55. My last run I pushed it too hard, slid wide in a hairpin, and had another 55. My best was my fifth run at 55.6 and the guy who won had a 55.2. He has 30 years of experience on me and has had the car for 20 years, so I feel pretty good about being so close.

I attached a couple pictures. I need to find a place to display pictures online - over 6 runs my wife took 130 of them.

Great results Pockets! Love those two pics. There doesn't seem to be too much body roll in the second picture. Car looks like it's handling great out there!!!!
