I would definitely NOT recommend downloading any kind of time or date sync software. I have yet to see one of those that is not spyware. It may keep your clock accurate (and even that remains to be seen), but it's gonna suck the life out of your system.

There should be a few programs on Tucows to fix your clock that are not spyware.

the moment i read your description of what is happening dieing battery was what came to mind

i highly recomend replacing it, it's not difficult pull it out put new one in

Is it crucial to the system? The clock thing, I can deal with...

Also, wouldn't a dying battery cause the clock to run slow not fast? Mine runs fast. =(

The clock will run even without a battery as long as you never turn off the computer. The battery shouldn't have an effect on if the clock is fast or slow.
