How to tap into cig lighter on console

Hey... I bought a splitter, and instead of having wires hanging everywhere, I'd like to take my console apart at the cigarette lighter area, so I can tap into that as a power source. Anyone know how to get that part of the console apart???

i have a general idea...i did it awhile ago so im not too sure, but you can pop the ashtray out, put the car in "1" though and then pop off the fake wood thing around the shifter, misc. things just kind of pop off as you go, but the ashtray just pulls out.

The ashtray pulls out, but the lighter panel does not. That panel is screwed in by two or three screws from the rear. The lighter however, does separate into two pieces by unscrewing from the rear sleeve. In the end though, it might be simpler just to tap the ACC wire off the radio or directly at the fusebox.

The primary interior power distribution node is located under a protective black plastic cover just above and to the left of the driver side foot rest.
