Speaking of paint...
Last year I took a day off work to clean the SVX thoroughly for the 10th Anniversary Meet. While washing the car (which I spent about three hours doing), I found that the entire surface of the car is covered in tiny black dots. It's not tar - nothing dissolves it. I suspect that it's paint from a visit to a body shop or some similar situation.
I'm not really sure what to do about it. You have to really look closely to see the specks, but when you do see them you realize that the car is literally covered in millions of them. Is wet-sanding a really horrible thing to do? I'm going to have to get large portions of the car (maybe the entire thing) repainted someday, but I still don't want to do anything potentiall damaging. Besides living with it (viable), what are my options?

Use a good body scrub like Meguire's 3 step system. You'll be amazed at what that can get off of paint.
Otherwise a good polishing or rubbing compound should take it off too. Doug

Well, that's good news to me. I use Meguair's wash and wax stuff, and I've been very happy with it, so I'm glad to hear that you recommend another of their products.
I don't think I've seen this 3-step stuff at Wal-Mart or Target or anything - where can I get it?

Paint
Hi Nick, According to that web site with the touch up paint and spray cans for small repaint jobs. The cars have a color coat and a clear coat except for the Pearl which is a three coat deal. So you might be just working on the clear coat, if it was not repainted. If the Meguire's does not do the job I would check with a good body shop to see what they think. Take care, BOBB
