Dash Light Anomalies

1. When the dash lights are on, and I push the button on the end of the turn signal stalk, the lights that are supposed to get brighter do. What seems strange is that the climate control buttons go dim - not the labels such as OFF, AUTO, etc, but the buttons themselves.

2. When I adjust the brightness of the dash lights using the ring on the turn signal stalk, the low position is very dim (barely visible), the second position is noticeably brighter, the third position is brighter still, but the fourth position has no effect at all.

3. The temperature display on the climate control is intermittent - sometimes on, sometimes not - but the climate control itself works like a champ.

Are these: a) normal; b) abnormal, but nothing to really get worried about; or c) signs that something really expensive is about to happen?

I'd appreciate any feedback.

1. I have noticed and wondered about the climate control lights dimming when you turn on the "day" feature

2. I usually run mine in the city and 3.5 and on the dark freeway at 2.

3. That's just plain weird.

1. I haven't noticed this. I'll have to check.

2. I haven't experienced this, either, but, will have to check.

3. The climate control display is only on when you are in Auto, Defrost or Econ modes. It will not display in vent mode. Do you mean the display is intermittent in the modes when the display *should* be on? If so, that IS weird.

Normally the display is off no matter what mode it's in. Then I'll be driving along with it in Auto or Defrost (never actually tried Econ), and the temp display will sloooooowly fade in, then sometime later I'll notice that it's out again. I can't see any consistency in when it fades in and then back out, it just does it.

At least no one thinks it's a harbinger of bad things to come. Iwon't worry about any of it.

Wow, two cool words in one thread - "anomalies" and "harbinger"!

Thanks for the help, guys . . .
