i agree. they must be embarrassed to show it, but doesn't want others to know much about it.

they should show off the svx more, the svx needs more attention.

Well, the point of the ad (it's a Subaru Australia ad) is to show and sell the new XV (Impreza based crossover vehicle). And the theme of the ad is "All the best we've done."
To get that point across the viewer has to recognize iconic cars that Subaru is famous for, and the SVX clearly fails in that department. The 360, 22b, WRX, Outback, Brat, etc. are the successful cars Subaru is known for and the viewer will recognize. I'm surprised the SVX even made it!

Exactly.

Don't forget that over here in Aus, we only ever had 249 SVXs, and they were priced at about 4 times even the most expensive Liberty (Legacy) of the day. It's a niche of a niche of a niche.

But the Brat (or Brumby as it was named here) sitting dust covered in the farmer's shed is iconic, and a perfect thread to hold the ad together.

I could not agree with you more. The failures that Subaru make with marketing are painful to watch. It makes me mad. Freaking morons. The launch of the SVX in Australia was botched and the price ($85,000 - $90,000) placed it totally out of reach of most people. So many mistakes made since then, have made me almost DISLIKE other Subaru models (especially the latest batch of ugly, oversized things).

For heavens sake, they even release models they have to quickly revise the styling of (Bug eye WRX, Tribeca etc.) Who is running this company anyway? A bunch of 6 yo's?

Yes, it is utterly amazing that the SVX is in this ad, which incidentaly, I have yet to see on televison here in Australia.

Yours angrily,

Mike
