Cool Re: Auckland - Time for a meetup?

Cool I am keen to meet this Sunday - any excuse not to replace ALL those bushings that I received from USA.

What about meeting somewhere quiet so that photos can be taken - then head off for a drive & lunch somewhere?

Re: Auckland - Time for a meetup?

At this point, I am clear for Sunday.

How long would everyone have for a drive/cruise and what sort of lunch venue do we want to end up at?

North or South?

Re: Auckland - Time for a meetup?

Sunday sounds like a plan... I live near enough to central Auckland but am happy to meet wherever works for the majority. Being Anzac Day, the main centres, parks etc may be a little more crowded than usual (weather pending)

I'll give it some more thought and post ideas here shortly

Re: Auckland - Time for a meetup?

Ok, some ideas and options for Nth, Sth or West runs... varied drive times etc but all fairly easy.. don't want to stress our old girls out too much do we?

Anyway, I've made some maps on Google here:

North

South

West

In all cases, I'd propose a meet time around 10.30-11.00am at whichever location.

Comments welcome

Cool Re: Auckland - Time for a meetup?

wow - I love the North one - there are a few good spots for photos, we could even stop off at the Puhoi pub for a top-up (last time I was there so was the Holden club).....

If so can you update map to include ......the pub.

As of today I have a problem. Left front brake hose on the SVX is leaking and I can not get anything fixed until Monday when all hoses will be replaced. Provided I can turn up in my Mazda MX5 by default, I will be on.

Trevor - not a problem, maybe one of the members on the south side can pick you up, that way you can enjoy being a passenger in an SVX....

Not a chance. I like driving a nimble car particular with the top down, even though the modern horrible forward located, sloping windscreen pillars, prevent lining up interesting corners for some real activity. My old SP250 as above, did not wear a windscreen over summer and my later Lotus seven also used on the road, had to be abandoned when I shifted to smaller digs. My used by date has passed.

Well at least the SVX will be there in spirit anyway..

As it happens, my neighbor also has an SVX that rarely comes out of the garage.. I invited him along but apparently his car needs a little TLC before it can be driven... maybe next time.

Sounds like Northern Route it is then..

hey Hairy, can that friend of yours that I met at the Ardmore meet make it? That way we might actually get 4 SVX's together in the same place...
