92 Pearly parts car

I have a 92 AWD parts car for sale. VIN# JF1 CX353ONH103835
Engine and wiring harness have been removed for a conversion.
Everything else is there.

Dented right fender, scraped up front bumper, broken passenger door upper window. All other body parts in good shape.

Wanting to sell car as a whole but will part out locally, not willing to ship parts.

Located in Seattle.

$400

You're the guy doing the Vanagon conversion. People have been saying bad things about you around here.

Re: 92 Pearly parts car

Good luck with the sale, and I hope someone picks it up.

Not everyone on an SVX enthusiast board agrees with pulling a running engine out of a driveable car, to put into something else, if the SVX itself can be kept as a running car.

But to each their own, I guess... It does look like a nice pearlie. Hopefully it can at least keep other SVX drivers on the road.

Re: 92 Pearly parts car

no offense to you svx guys, but i like the motor much more than i like the car. the motor is great and has lots of potential in other vehicles.

when you drop an svx into a syncro you have the perfect combination in my opinion, even better than the 2.5 with the 2.2 heads.

Hey Chris,

Yes, the engine must make a terrific Vanagon, that's what I would want if I had a Vanagon.

Yes, many thanks for offering the car here. Good luck with the project!

It would be great if you could report back once you have finished.

I'd be lyin' if I said I haven't looked around at the vanagon swap info online, and wondered about an EG33 engine, with a Porsche/VW-style mid-engine side-output-RWD manual gearbox, all in a custom mid-engined kit car.

But I do very much love the SVX itself, too, as a car, and want to see as many as possible kept in running condition. past the point of viability on the chassis, though, I have no problems with EG33 engines in other vehicles.

Above, I was just illustrating the "why" you asked about.

Good luck with the parts car, and yes indeed, thanks for bringing it to this forum, and offering it here. I do hope it helps another SVX driver.

I also do wish you good use of your EG33 powered V-dub. They seem like quite the interesting vehicles.

Re: 92 Pearly parts car

It sold tonight to a local girl with another 92 Pearly. Her and her dad are using my car to get hers back on the road.

I'm happy it sold to an SVX lover in need.

BTW....here's the kit I'm picking up soon.
