Who has the 160A high-output alternator?
Christian at Maniac Motors says she has sold 9 high-output alternators, not including mine, to members of the network.
I am trying to keep a data sheet of who has them, whether you are using stock wiring only, the alternator wiring upgrade (with or without inline fuse) or in my case the new circuit. If you are using a fuse, what kind and amperage. I would like to have impressions, test results, problems, etc. Christian said no one has called back for any reason except to ask questions. .

Hi John!
I have the Maniac Motors HO alternator in my daughters 92, stock wiring, since February 09. No issues. Voltage as read from plug in voltmeter about .5VDC higher at idle than previous stock alternator.

Depending on what my car needs, I might be getting one.
I thought my car had a new alternator on it... it is awfully clean, and Roo said it is new. Unfortunately, the battery depletes after a few days commuting, and has intermittent start after that point. I can also hear the HVAC fan speed, and see backlighting dim with turn signals, and the headlights seem awfully dim and yellow... a bit more alternator output might not hurt. First is going to be the Bosch relay mod, and replacement Alternator and voltage regulator wiring... and maybe pulling the alternator, and having it tested, and perhaps a new battery. I'll likely be patterning the wiring replacement on SVXcess's processes. Thanks for all that info, btw.
