Re: Any Bowlers out there???

I do it for fun. It's one of those activities I keep forgetting about until I get lost with a few friends and we run across one. I'm always forced to use the heavier balls because my fingers won't fit in the lighter ones 16lbs for 4 games or so takes a toll on some weird nerves for the night.

Weakling JK. I use 2 16lb balls and the other night I bowled 11 games I think with one of my friends. I have also bowled 27 games in one night before with about 7 of them bowled left handed.

When I go out with friends, I just go and have a good time and we play for a few bucks.

I also bowl on a league right now and have a 186 average. I got one of my friends old balls about 2 months ago and since I started using that I have a 205 average. My old ball that I now use for spares is 12 years old so it was time for a change.

Pfft, I'll have you know it's all in the technique. People keep telling me I'm holding the ball wrong, but I really don't go often enough to care. I've never done it competitively, just for fun.

Re: Any Bowlers out there???

I am completely self taught. I started in junior leagues in 4th grade just throwing about as hard as I could every ball and slowly just changed things over the years. I'm still pretty "raw" when compared to most league type bowlers in the fact that I just look at the pins and bowl, never look at the arrows for aiming and never pay attention to where I start my approach.

That's awesome! I've never had the courage to enter any type of tournys ever. I put too much pressure on myself and never really think I'm any good. I went to a state tourny in 2003 that I qualified in juniors and bowled my a$$ off in a regional only to do terrible at state (going from true wood lanes to full synthetic with aggressive oiling pattern really sucked)
