Now that you've got the lid all apart, any idea what would cause it to rattle for those of us with upgraded stereos?

Yea, I used to have a big bang stereo in my red car. The rattle is caused by the bottom of the lid(part with the licence plate). The air moving from the subs pushes that front to back causing it to rattle on the latch. I could literally watch this happen with my old system. Kinda cool looking but sounded awful

Ah, I knew it wasn't the license plate. Any idea the best way to fix it?

mold the lid into the unibody . Besides that i never found a good fix thats why I sold the system. Try using bumpers between the bottom of the lid and the car right under that panel to keep tension on the latch to keep it from rattling. Might make it a little tough to close the lid but it will help.

I've heard of that...or adjusting the latch to accomplish the same task.

Dunno, just let the project go when I started modding the car to the hills and not worrying about cosmetics... Maybe I will get back to it but not right now

I scrapped my Ebony lid when I got rid of my ebony. Now it is going to take me getting my hands on a silver lid to work with and have painted...It would be a good project for me to work in here in Philly so if anyone has a silver lid I would appreciate it

I doubt I could make it to M-town tomorrow night but Hocrest is coming down in the evening and we're gonna try on the new wheels and try to button a few things down. If you'd want to come to Lancaster (add maybe 30 more minutes each way). Probably be at the car from 6-8ish. As for traffic. I'd say wait as the schykill is horrible in the afternoon.
