my sister just bought a house. she works at a high school in riesterstown but because of the insanely high prices for land in the area she lives in towson about 20 miles away from dulaney valley shoping center. my dad has a few employes that live in the area they say its nice and affordable. long drive to work but its better than commuting from hanover or lancaster pa.

Well Here we go!

I'm just about packed... I'll be dragging the SVX on a trailer behind a rental truck...

As my friends say... "Mitatch just luuuves his adventures...." I won't be moving into my apartment until May 9th... which is a week after I start work. Anyone want to help me unload a truck? (JK)

I'll fly back to pick up and drive my Legacy back (to the east coast where I got her a year ago.)

that will be three times across the country within one year! yippy

I'm really not too afraid of the traffic... I've done the commute from Walnut Creek to San Jose (50 miles each way every day for 18 months) and driven to work in Seattle (Rated one of the nations worst traffic corridors) I'll be 12 miles away from work which is the shortest commute I've had for many years.
I can't wait to explore some of the civilwar sites... I'll be 4 hours away from my sister in NY, and I think I'm going to love my new company.

And I can't tell you how happy I'll be to get out of SLC and the church run state of Utah. Thank you Mr Wolfe.... you were right... you can't go home again. Watch for my sequel to Mr. Wolfe's book.. " I tried to go home and it was gone..."

I can't wait to get to meet some of the SVX community back there! After I get settled at work I'll be trying to get to as many meets as I can.

Anyway... I'll be on the road and I'll check in when and where I can... See ya'll later.

Have a safe trip Mitch.

I used to live in Herndon, VA for two years in '01-'03. The civil war sites in Manassas, VA are just beautiful. You'll have a ton of fun. Plus, you can make it to Reading next year!

Hi!

I'm metrophobic (cities scare me)...but welcome to the area. I hear DC is cool! - I'm about an hour and a bit from it.

If you ever find yourself in the Western Maryland/South Central PA boonies as folks from the D of C sometimes do...there are some very cool drives / things to do - feel free to PM. I can make some suggestions!

I'm Here....

Just incase anyone was interested... That was the worst drive ever...
a 25' truck with a car trailer thru Wyoming ... Snow! ... through Colorado... rain and Snow.... thru Kansas RAIN... Thru.. ... let's see indiana, Ohio... What ever came next ... RAIN.... the first break was yesterday when I got into PA... just cloudy... only a few sprinkles of rain... then today... thru Maryland and VA... to Reston... partly cloudy with sun! for the first time since I left Salt Lake on Wednesday night I got to use my sunglasses. I'm checked in to my Temp housing and ready to start the new job tomorrow!!

Wish me luck!

and I don't want to hear about any complaints about SVX gas mileage.... the truck averaged about 10 miles to the gallon... YUK!

Sounds like a fun roadtrip, aside from the weather. Or at least it would've been if you were driving the SVX instead of towing it.

Hope you'll visit the west meets, the east has too many members already.
