Lightbulb Off the shelf Warranty

has anyone had any success or purchased, used, or had experience with them for SVXs ....I've included their address below, I found them thru another interesting site that I'm sure some of you would know about which offers a 'web' buyer the ability to bring a Japanese import in....this insurer works in with these importers to offer Aussie buyers of these 'greys' upto 3 years of mechanical insurance, they also offer insurance for Aussie [local] cars as well.....[I'm not associated]....but I'm sure one of us may have come across them or contacts of yours that may have brought in a 300ZX twin turbo or an SVX AWD 4WS !! may have...

Have a look see what you think ..

insurer/policies http://www.cargear.com.au/warranties.html

Car Importer http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/

I did a search within our own forum for 'warranty' with no result..anyway check the sites out see what you think

Hi

Not worth the paper they are written on - so many exclusions and restrictive clauses that not even worth reading

How's the Subbie going??

Cheers

James

Thanks for the feedback on the warranties, i just thought there may be some advantage with one over the car, if a major was to occur.

The car though is going well, took it for a big run up the coast and drove for about 180kms on empty, the fuel light then came on and we kept driving, when I ran out nerve I filled her up and put the highest amount of fuel in yet..61 litres, so I still had roughly 8 litres left, kms for the tank were 558kms at fill up which is pretty good 'economy' for 61litres.

New wheels and tyres are good, wheels aren't too bad for cleaning [willing children does help] but because they are 18s and so open most of the brake dust must blow away, but there again I don't jump on the brakes either. The Falken tyres have some road noise, but not obtrusive.

Having fun seeing how many different auto functions the a/c system can go thru, even to the point of just having front vents with no temp showing no much happen doing that though

Any way that'll do for now

David
