New co worker followed me on our way out of work. The next day he says. That is a nice looking SVX. I never saw the 5 speed one before ( guy is 25 years old ) and he says that is a mean sounding exhaust too!

Recently some scumbag smashed my back window and broke into my car. Here in Australia they're rarer than rare. I can't tell you how many times I've had to say recently:

"A Subaru SVX"
"Ok, so Subaru, is it a Liberty or an Impreza"?
"S... V... X..."

And then:
"It's a window inside a window"
Which is usually replied with
"Errr...", "What"? Or silence (I presume from someone's head exploding trying to grasp the concept over the phone of a car they've never heard of).

One guy told me over the phone "that's a beautiful car, good luck trying to find glass for it though".

Yesterday a couple got out of there car as I was parking it to go into work. The guy runs over to me. He says I just told my wife that is a rare car. We talked for a few min. I showed him the original window sticker I have in the glove box. Then he says that why they didn't sell a lot of them? Oh it says Automatic ,but yours has a stick?????

Just got the rear wheel bearing replaced at a long time reputable shop (have been taking my cars there for about 20 years). A dry humored, sarcastic owner but, also a successful SCCA vintage Datsun racer, 240 and 510. To paraphrase, he said, I understand why you like these cars (having test drove it). We need people like you to to preserve these marques. He always complains but, I know he loves it when I bring one of my 2 in. Always parks it out front prominently.
I'll take that as a compliment.

Was at the local racetrack watching some guys do some testing on their circle track car, one of the guys looks at my car and goes "hey I'll race you for pinks.. what is that a talon?"

In the last two days my HIDs failed, which I replaced with original Sylvanias, (but only one is working), and my new bluetooth head unit completely died, hopefully just a bad soldered wired, [2 issues likely related]. ...But while getting gas in NJ the attendant bends down to the open passenger window and asks... "how long have you owned this, what year is it, awesome, really nice shape, I had to walk around it to see what it was". Then later stopped at a traffic light guy beside me rolls down his window... "your car is beautiful man!"

Hey you gana need a push. I said no but if your jeep needs a tow let me know. Next day I found out they got stuck.
I brushed it off and drove right out. Don't think I even spun a wheel. 13" of snow . You could see the whole shape of the underside of the car in the path.

Wow 2 in one week. Walking into my local super Market. I see a guy standing in the door way (60 ish looking ) looked like he was waiting for someone. Yea ! Me.
He says. Nice ride. I said thanks he said don't see many of them around anymore yours is in nice shape. What year? 94 , no #%>^% , NICE .
Go pick up a prescription for the wife. Pull up to the drive thru. Put the widow down. She says. I never saw a window like that... ( she is 20 something ) she yells. Tony come here look at this window. Make it go up and down. Ain't that neat..

I just got my first SVX a month ago (wanted one since I was 18). Been doing some work to it and just took to my local emissions place so I could get it registered in my name after passing their test. The two emissions workers were googling over the car for a while. They didn't even know it was a Subaru until I told them. Apparently one of them is a big Subaru fan and offered to buy my car on the spot with their recently acquired tax return. lol

Twice in one week someone wanted to make me an offer for my car! The tech that changed my antifreeze and a customer from the Trans shop where I had my car serviced. I said: "Sorry, not for sale."
