FOR SALE: Remanufactured OEM Front Axle for FWD ONLY Subaru SVX

This is a genuine Subaru axle pulled from a 1995 FWD SVX, rebuilt with Subaru parts to Subaru specifications. This is NOT a cheap aftermarket replacement axle. This is as close to a brand new genuine Subaru SVX axle as you can get.

Based on feedback from members of this forum, it's clear that the FWD axle will fit on an AWD car. Be aware that the FWD axles and the AWD axles look different if compared side-by-side. Personally, I would use the same axle on both sides of the car to keep things balanced and avoid possible driveline issues.

Subaruparts.com, which is the Tacoma Subaru dealer's online store has a new Subaru FWD axle for sale for this price;

I'm asking $150 for this axle rebuilt with Subaru parts to Subaru specifications, plus shipping. That's a 56% savings on a new factory part.

Yeah going to go ahead and disagree about the non interchangeable. IIRC the FWD axles that were on my car were swapped over to the 5spd. And if I remember the 4EAT were the same, minus the rear end (and a capped drive shaft).

You are correct sir. You can use the FWD axles in an AWD SVX. Might not be as good of an idea to use the AWD front axles in a FWD SVX though, since AFAIK the FWD axles are stronger. But they will still fit.

And I just remembered, when i went to get new axles for the front, I got the FWD because they were cheaper (core charge less). Back and Front are not interchangeable though.

+1 for FWD front axles fitting on an AWD. I put some FWD from a '94 LS 2WD on my '95 LSi AWD a few years back. They ARE beefier, but a perfect fit!
