Tire recommendations
Anybody got a good tire for my TVR. I just ordered some 16" rims (car came with 14s and you'd be suprised how few options there are for a rim which is 5x112 with a 23mm offest). Looking for a tire in the 205/45/16 or 205/50/16 range although I could go up to 215s if need be. I think I'd have trouble with anything wider than that. Looking for something which has a great bite of the line with my current -4 rear wheel camber. I was able to squeel the current tires while taking it down from my ramps for the first time. Treadwear isn't so much an issue 200-300 would be fine. Also would like to keep 'em around $100 a piece.

Re: Tire recommendations
For a light weight sports car, I have really good luck with the Toyo T1-R tires on the Miata. They are ultra-performance summer, and very directional and water-siped.
But they seem to have very stable behavior, grippy, not greasy, not wallowy, but not horrendously harsh, but then again Miata's suspension isn't too harsh, either. I have 215/40-zr16s on the miata, on 7 inch wide wheels. It seems to be a good fitment. Wider than 205s that are more common, but not as oversized as a 225 would be on a 7" rim. And on a light weight car, which gets snow tires in the winter, these summer tires are wearing actually quite long, especially considering their performance nature. A heavier car would probably tax them a little harder. Last edited by BoxerFanatic; 06-20-2009 at 03:32 PM. |

Anybody have Sumitomo HTR Z II or Yoko Parada Spec 2s? I don't think I can fit 215s but might be able to.
