Re: Service manual cds - Ebay auction?

Colin, Don't bother. I was adventurous enough to get a CD for my '96. It is 79 .pdf text files only 19 Meg total. The info is sparce and incomplete, much of it is generic. It isn't worth $3. much less the $35. he's charging. I was going to post a warning. Dave

I bought one, but I have not decided whether it is of any value or not. I will try to look at it a little more, and give you some more information. It has 30 + pdf files that consist of written material as well as diagrams on different areas of service or parts. It doesn't seem very detailed, so I don't think that it is of real value. I thought I would try it to see if it had any good information on it, but I think that you would be better off getting a different manual than this CD. I don't think that it is worth $30.00 though. It has "pdf machine trial version" across the text on some of the pages. I am not sure where this has come from.

Well, i figured it wasn't worth it... $30 would be pretty reasonable though if it was actually every page from all the of the factory service manual books. Oh well. Thanks guys

Where can you get the official ones?

Does anyone know where you get the official SVX manuals? How much are they? Thanks.

Hi Clark, welcome to the club, and congrats on your new car. Sounds like a good find.

I bought a set of factory service manuals from subaruparts.com.
It seems like it was $178 with the shipping. They pay for themselves in a very short time!

I had them with me at the 10th ann.meet, and many of the group used them. Was glad I brought them along...

If I had only remembered to bring my radar detector.....

Manual CD

Yeah I picked it up too. Basically I just wanted the wiring diagrams and such. Not bad for those things. If fact its much better than a Cymer manual. Theres a lot of crap on it though. I'd give $15 for it normally but I currently keep frying my fog light fuse. Gotta find the short and figured they'd help. The heat definately isn't helping though. I think it followed me home from Lafayette.
